78th Independence Day Celebration at MDI Murshidabad: A Day of Patriotism and Unity
MDI Murshidabad celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with immense patriotism and unwavering enthusiasm. The campus was adorned with the tricolour, and the air was filled with the spirit of freedom. The day commenced with a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by a stirring rendition of the National Anthem that evoked a sense of unity and pride in every heart.
Our Acting Director, Prof. (Dr.) Debasis Chanda, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech that emphasised the significance of this momentous day. He paid homage to the countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence, urging everyone to uphold their ideals and contribute to the nation’s progress. He underscored the importance of education, innovation, and social responsibility in building a stronger and more inclusive India. The flag-hoisting ceremony culminated with a disciplined parade by the security guards, showcasing their dedication and commitment to the institution’s safety and well-being.
The celebrations were enriched by the contributions of Aakriti (Cultural Committee), Prayas (Social Responsibility Committee), and Darpan (Drama & Theatre Club). Aakriti showcased India’s rich heritage through cultural performances. Prayas engaged young minds from Kulori Primary School in interactive activities, while Darpan presented thought-provoking dramas on patriotism and responsibility.
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets and chocolates, adding even more smiles to the joyful day.
