Dr Sangeeta Shah Bhardwaj is a Professor of Information Management and Dean Executive Graduate Program at MDI Gurgaon with an experience spanning over three and half decades. She has served as an Acting Director at MDI Gurgaon from Jan 2023 to Oct 2023. She has also held position of Dean Graduate Programs, Dean Admin Quality and Compliance and Dean Executive Education and Chairperson Digital Infrastructure.As Dean (AQC) she has lead projects related to National (NIRF) and international accreditation (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS). As Chairperson Digital Infrastructure, she has successfully implemented Oracle Peoplesoft ERP at MDI Gurgaon, RFID project of Library , Document Management System, RFID project of Fixed Assets etc. She has served as jury member for evaluating the Digital transformation projects of public sector enterprises and served as Member Board of Studies, USMS GGSIP University, Member Academic Council MVN University. She is in selection committee of several business schools and has been awarded best faculty in Business Schools by Business World in year 2024. She is M.Sc. Mathematics, Master of Management Studies (M.M.S.), M.E. (Systems and Information) and Ph.D. (Management) from B.I.T.S., Pilani
Prof Sangeeta is the founding Chairperson, Center of ML/AI and Business Applications. Under her leadership, the prestigious project to conduct a Market Study on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Competition’ under the aegis of CCI was completed. The project entailed gathering insights from all relevant stakeholders, to develop a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape of AI and application of AI in markets in India from risk, opportunities and ramifications to competition point of view. Also, undertook Proof of Concepts for predicting demand and inventory optimization for a multinational company, ERP consultancy for SAP HANA Rise migration and evaluation of vendor selection for Digital transformation project of large PSUs. She conducted impact analysis of Digital Banking Units (DBUs) under the aegis of Department of Financial Services (DFS). Her other consultancy assignments include preparation of IT Roadmap and Detail Project Feasibility Report of implementing ERP and implementing IT transformation Project.She has also worked extensively with BPO companies where she identified the training needs of middle level BPO managers, developed and delivered training programs for large BPO companies.
She teaches courses in AI Intelligence and Machine Learning with the objective to prepare students to provide AI leadership in organizations. She also teaches Business Development in IT and Agile Project Management to prepare the students to take up challenging consulting assignments in IT organization for the client. Further among her courses, Prof Sangeeta also teaches Digital HR where students are taught about the technologies in HR function and how the technology is changing the face of HR function from ERP driven HRIS to data driven and AI driven Digital HRand Digital Product development and Management.
Prof Sangeeta has conducted extensive research in the area of IT Outsourcing / BPO, emerging technologies and knowledge management. Her Case “Can Work From Home Policy Hurt Employee Morale?, was published in HBR April 2015. She has more than 50 publications in international and national (EJIS¸ BPMJ¸ Vikalpa etc.) journals andhas developed cases covering concepts of cloud computing, business process management, IT outsourcing, digital transformation, etc.
