Annual Convocation-2024
MDI Murshidabad concluded its Annual Convocation-2024 on April 8, 2024, for the PGDM class of 2022-24. The Convocation ceremony was held at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium, Kolkata. The Convocation address was delivered by the hon’ble Chief Guest of the event, Shri Harsh Vardhan Lodha, Chairman, MP Birla Group. The event was also graced by Shri Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, Board of Governors MDI, Members of the Board of Governors and Dr. Debasis Chanda, Acting Director, MDI Murshidabad.
Shri. Harsh Vardhan Lodha, is the Chairman of the MP Birla Group, a diversified conglomerate with an annual revenue of around $1.8 billion. The MP Birla Group is invested in multiple businesses such as cement, cables, jute and guar gum. As the non-executive Chairman of the group, Shri. Harsh Vardhan Lodha also heads multiple educational institutions and hospitals, which are run as non-profits.
In his Convocation Address, Shri Harsh Vardhan Lodha emphasized on keeping sustainability and inclusive growth as the goal of one’s life. While hard work, continuous learning and creating value for all stakeholders should be of primary importance, work-life balance specially health should also be a priority. He offered his best wishes to the students for their journey ahead and urged them to make India a better place by giving back to the society.
Shri Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, Board of Governors MDI congratulated the graduating students of MDI Murshidabad, urging them to leverage their acquired knowledge to drive meaningful progress and uphold ethical principles. He emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude to those who have been the pillars of support for their achievements.
Dr. Debasis Chanda, Acting Director, MDI Murshidabad congratulated the graduating students of MDI Murshidabad and expressed confidence in their ability to carry forward the institution’s legacy. He urged the students to strive for excellence and make good use of the knowledge and skills they’ve acquired.
The convocation ceremony witnessed conferment of diplomas upon 188 students, while also presenting gold medals to those meritorious students who have demonstrated exceptional all-round performance.
