E-Samvaad 2021 The Annual Media Conclave

e-Samvaad, 2021 the Annual Media Conclave organized by Syndekon, the PR Media & Web Committee of MDI Murshidabad, was held on 31st of January, 2021. The event saw media professionals, academicians, research scholars, and students debate and discuss one of the most pressing concerns in the world of digital marketing and advertising.
“Is the internet becoming a giant advertising billboard that is suffocating its users?”
Internet originated in the 1960s as a research network supported by the government, industry, and academia. In the last 10-15 years, the internet has become an indispensable part of everyday life, as a result, brands across industries have understood the benefits of advertising on the internet. The kind of insight that can be drawn from advertising on the internet is second to none. Targeting the perfect customer becomes much more viable and of course, the cost involved in running an online campaign vs running a campaign on offline spaces is another major factor contributing to its popularity.
With this as a backdrop, the conclave consisted of an enriching and engaging panel discussion with four eminent speakers from the field of marketing, advertising, and PR. The panel discussion was followed by a stand up comedy session with none other than Kumar Varun.
This one-day event provided a forum for deliberation and exchange of ideas amongst the invited speakers and the participating students. Events of such calibre help students understand challenges faced by industry practitioners and help in broadening their horizons. We hope that MDI Murshidabad continues to be a platform for such insightful deliberations in the future as well.
