Under the guidance of Professor Atmanand, Ph.D., MDI Murshidabad launched MDIM AgriBytes, a monthly seminar series of CABFP- Centre of Excellence which aims to disseminate the best practices of the Agri sector.
As part of this series, MDI Murshidabad has organized a panel discussion on “From FarmToFork: Emerging Dimensions” with panelists Dr. Ramesh Chandra Biswal, Mr. Lokesh Kakarla, and Dr. Dinesh K Yadav, on March 26th, 2022 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. The concept implies that the food we eat and its ingredients were sourced directly from the farm where they were grown. Farm to fork provides a more detailed picture of where the products come from, as most of our food is procured through vendors and large distributors. It sheds a light on farms and farmers who work hard.
Dr. Ramesh founded Villamart, a startup to empower rural India through a retail chain of farm produce, rural products, and daily consumable items, and intended to create a sustainable livelihood through research & innovation for each small problem of rural life.Mr. Lokesh is the promoter of AgMart. AgMart is a registry of farmer’s crop availability details, to make aggregation easy for procurement agencies. It is incubated @ a-IDEA, NAARM, Hyderabad. He has worked for financial inclusion and Agri loans in rural markets.Dr. Dinesh has completed his doctoral in Agri Chemicals and currently working as a scientist at ICAR. His research focus is pertinent to soil science. He is involved in numerous projects in emerging agricultural technologies.
We at MDI Murshidabad are delighted to have Dr. Ramesh Chandra Biswal, Mr. Lokesh Kakarla, and Dr. Dinesh K Yadav, as our distinguished guests and hope that the students would benefit from this session by gaining valuable insights.
