MDIM COGNOS – The Research Seminar Series
MDIM Cognos, a monthly research seminar series starting from December 2021, aspires to create a platform for research ideas exchange. It aims to generate a momentum of industry-oriented research-based issues by identifying real-world problems and seeking and deciphering tentative solutions.
Dr. Charles research works are published in top ABDC/ABS journals such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Marketing Management, Psychology & Marketing, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Marketing Intelligence and Planning, Journal of Strategic Marketing and International Journal of Consumer Studies among others. His objective is to ensure all his research works help businesses enhance their performance and contribute to society to improve social wellbeing. In this regard, he collaborated with the industry to provide industry-relevant research and consultancy.
He has also served as Guest Editor for reputed journals, including the Journal of Strategic Marketing, Journal of Consumer Marketing. Australasian Journal of Information Systems and International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing. There are several awards in his name including “The Ph.D. Thesis of the Year 2015 in the Faculty of Business and Law, Swinburne University”, “Best Reviewer Award" (2018 Literati Award for Outstanding Reviewer for Marketing Intelligence and Planning) and Best paper award. Dr. Charles believes in the teaching philosophy that students should be co-creators of knowledge than passive learners, and his teaching strategies emanate from this philosophy. He has taught in four universities in Australia and he is an Associate Fellow of HEA (Higher Education Academy, UK). As recognition of his teaching excellence, he received Teaching Excellence Recognition Scheme (TERS) award from Griffith Business School.
